Marlon D. Turner

Mr. Marlon D. Turner (he/him/his) is a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist and Peer Navigator for the Chesterfield County Jail’s division of the Empowered Communities Opioid Project (ECOP). There, he assists at-risk individuals who suffer from SUD with the proper resources and connections that are centered on Recovery. Marlon is extremely passionate and determined when it comes to helping others, and he utilizes his past experiences to engage, understand, and connect to others in the hopes of being a catalyst and champion of change.

Marlon has also developed a strong rapport and working relationship with Chesterfield Pretrial Services, Chesterfield Mental Health and Community Service Board (CSB), and Dual Track Treatment, where he has become a sponsor for dual-diagnosed individuals.

Before his time at Mason, Marlon was a Group Facilitator for the HARP Program inside the Chesterfield County Jail. In this role, he educated the men on Substance Use, Addiction and Recovery, and Relapse Prevention. He continues to engage with the HARP Program participants and facilitates groups in his free time.
