Ms. Cicely Spencer (She/Her/Hers) Is the Peer Recovery Internship Coordinator for the Empowered Communities Opioid Project (ECOP) and Opioid MAT Project. Her primary focus is to support the career pipeline of PRS, from training to experiential learning to certification, providing managerial and teaching leadership for PRS interns. The PRS Internship Program is a series of robust, practical learning endeavors requiring 72 instructional hours and 500 experiential hours. As the PRS Internship Coordinator, she provides program coordination, PRS supervision, internship site supervision, PRS training, peer support, and family support, as needed for MAP/MAT (Mason and Partners and Medication Assisted Treatment.
Before her time at Mason, Cicely worked as a Reginal and Community and Peer Advocate for individuals and their families for over 14 years. During her time with the County CSB, she occupied various roles such as Wellness and Recovery Coordinator: Office of Individual and Family Affairs, PACT, a Crisis stabilization facility where she worked with acute individuals with co-occurring challenges (Mental Health and Substance Use), provided mobile support on an Intensive Care Treatment teams, developed and/or facilitated recovery education, training, presentations and recovery documentaries for county and government agencies, faith-based groups, clinicians, nurses, doctors, Peers, and their Families members.
